policy of the empire (modern distances in metric)
we never met the taste
of each other's lips
head on; but we had ideas
and a passion for
boxer shorts
that would have made our parents
blush
and it's a fourteen hour drive
to the sunset state, and we both know
it has always been fourteen hours,
but fourteen, sixteen, eighteen
twenty -
wasted minutes, wasted years,
while the saffron city lights
of a million stranded souls
watch the walls we tore down
grow weeds
The words
"I", "Love", and "You"
So commonly used
Misused
Abused
Ambiguous and confused
Neglected and obtuse
Cast away
Thrown into pits
Concrete hits
And shattered bits
Unseen they lay
Like glass shards they rip
Through the very tips
Of souls and wait
To seed their pain
In another day
In a grim expression
The mindless
That binds this
Phrase do not foresee
The cruel fist
Of Fate in bliss
Waits to leak
For them to bleed
Sorrow to seethe
With misery
To linger and stay
Despite their prayers
Despite the praise
Their friends their family
Held through the days
And the solid mind state
Which now will fade
Of idea
listen, just for a few minutes.
take a few deep breaths [even if you don't want to breathe anymore]. listen to the pitter-patter of your heart beating in your ears and feel your pulse racing. taste the silence of the world; see the anxiety take over you.
close your eyes and look at the black. look at the black until you see something worth holding onto inside of yourself. wait until breathing doesn't feel like a losing game and then open your eyes,
and listen.
.
look, you
are wonderful. you remind me of a lullaby in winter, sung like a secret not meant for anyone to know; but it's a shame, because you're one of the most beautiful songs.
Do you know how much I want you,
How anxiously I miss you.
How much is there to go without you and how my heart beats because of you.
It's like the way my heart grows,
With each moment I am with you.
Just there's never enough in lonely moments when I am not with you.
But I know how much you love me too,
How there's tomorrow for everything.
Yet your smile alone makes me think of nothing else but you.
